18Sep2019 - I frogged this. Not because I did not like the project, but because after calculating, I would have needed one more skein for baby blanket. As this yarn is not really my favorite colorway, I decided that I would not spend the money to buy an additional skein. I have chosen a small baby jacket to knit instead.
I may try this pattern again with a different yarn.

My friend is expecting a baby girl in January 2020 and this kind of pink lemonade color and soft yarn would be perfect for a baby project.

I cast on 154 stitches, knit 4 rows in stockinette to create a rolled edge.
Side edges are a 2 stitch i-cord, which also looks like a rolled edge.
150 main stitches are knit/purl into 5-stitch/6-rows quads/squares, alternated.
Created a border after 8 repeat rows of squares, with 6 squares on each side. Center piece is garter stitch.

Let’s see how far this yarn takes me. I need 30g yarn to complete the upper border of squares.
