Notes

When I saw the pattern by Lily Chin I thought it was such a brilliant idea to locate buttons on opposite sides to be able to wear the shrug in multiple ways. I am not a big fan of knitting cables, so I changed the body pattern to a checkerboard or basket weave kind of pattern.
5 st stockinette, 5 st moss stitch for 6 rows.
Next 6 rows, same pattern just offset.
I crocheted the border with a leftover cotton yarn in grey. Results are great.
Final size
16” (40cm) wide and 55” (150cm) long.

In regard to the yarn I have to say that I loved it. Cotton Angora blend, knitted nicely and has a beautiful shine, feels soft yet also has a nice weight to it after knit. Perfect for a shrug. I do not have any issues with split yarn, which is typical with most cotton blends. Too bad it was discontinued.
