Apr 11: shawl is done, knitted top down, washed and blocked. I am very happy with the results. The pattern is great, easy to follow - difficulties that I had were knitter issues. The yarn is a sock yarn, but it does nicely with this pattern. Final size 42cm x 130cm. (16.5 x 51 inches).
Apr 3: I have finished the bottom lace part and started to do the grafting. I just could not get it right although I tried the kitchener stitch and I tried the suggestions of knitting a few rows with wasteyarn and following that to graft the two parts. I gave up, undid the lower lace triangle and will now knit the shawl in one piece bottom down. At least I know that I have enough yarn from the point where I planned on grafting.
Mar 18: I have reached the bottom lace part and I decided to knit this part from the bottom up and then graft the stitches. Two reasons, I want to make the shawl symmetrical and I want to knit as far possible that my yarn goes. I hope the grafted part does not appear too obvious as it will not be in the middle of the shawl.
Mar 08: only 20cm on the middle part left to go. I enjoy the mindless knitting.
Feb 02: I have reached Chart 3, but have learned to print the charts in color as the pattern repeat did not show properly in b/w, therefore I made a few mistakes which I am trying to undo.
