Notes

I originally handspun and knitted the Aeolean Shawlette to wear for my wedding day. Once completed, I decided to enter it into the 2011 Great Basin Fiber Arts Fair and the 2011 Utah State Fair as part of the hand spinning category. I ended up winning “Best Finished In Show” and “First Place” respectively! The beading was very tastefully designed and the shawl itself was a quick knit. I am wearing this on my wedding day.

I created a 2-ply gossamer weight yarn. It consists of a strand of 80% Wool / 20% Angora plied with a strand of 50% Wool / 20% Angora / 30% Silk. The fiber for this shawlette weighed a mere 0.8 oz. The #8 beads added structure, but did not bog down the weight of the shawl. It drapes very gracefully on my shoulders and doesn’t roam about.
