It was more complicated than I thought to fulfill Steph’s request for a “delicate, sexy lace stole”.

I tried and frogged for weeks trying to find a pattern that worked with my handspun yarn. The color of this yarn overruled many pretty lace patterns due to the nature of plying a variegated yarn without matching up the colors.

I finally settled on the Lilac Leaf Shawl. This pattern, though very lacy, has a relaxed sort of open feel when knitted with a slightly larger needle than is originally called for. The color of the yarn and the pattern work together to create the piece instead of working against each other.
