Notes

Jan 22, 2013: This is the coldest winter in a decade. It is also the first winter I’ve spent outside waiting for the train. My frozen fingers begged me for mittens, but my habit of knitting on the train requires my fingers be free.

I woke up at 3AM with Yarnharlot’s recent blog post echoing in my head, “I remembered I know how to make yarn.” I Up I got. I spend the next three wee hours plying the yarn I’d purchased (and initially spun) at my last retreat.

I was finished with the first glove by the end of that same day. I’ve been knitting the other one on the train rides to and from work. One hand thanks me. The other is envious.

Notes: the glove ended up being a little bigger than I’d like. If I were to knit these again, I’d go down a needle size.

Jan 24, 2013: All that’s left is sewing on the button and knitting the i-cord for the button loop!
