Notes

I think the gauge used for this lace will probably be based a great deal on personal preference. The pattern calls for much larger needles than I used, though that’s for rather thicker yarn. I tried 8s, then 5s, then 4s, then backed it all the way down to 2s to get the look I preferred.

That said, now it’s really started, this pattern is quite enjoyable. It’s not cuss-me-out lace, but it’s pretty, and the beads look nice. (Pro-tip: make sure your crochet hook really will fit through the hole in the bead. Otherwise, you’re going to facepalm and use a needle and thread. Not that I know anything about this.)

This madelinetosh yarn really quite likes to fuzz if you hold it too tightly, or frog it a few times. It’s nice, looks great, but it does seem to require a somewhat more delicate touch.

Later note: Stitch markers after every repeat of the pattern will save your sanity. I had to rip a couple more times, after missing a YO and then entirely losing track of the lace. Stitch markers have repaired that problem. Oh, stitch markers, how I love you.
