Completed with only minor alterations to the pattern:

  • I made the length to underarm far longer than called for, as is typical with a vintage pattern.
  • You must use a stretchy bind off for the neck, otherwise you will be choking yourself. Trust me. -Otherwise a gorgeous, simple pattern that anyone can complete and be delighted with! Just enough detail to be interesting, but perfectly doable for the knitter new to sweater making.

I am mesmerized by my swatch for this project! The color is so … shiny … and the stitch definition is just perfect! Plus I’m sure I’m going to love the cotton content for a short-sleeved number. I swoon…

4/20 - I began with the sleeves since I didn’t have no. 1’s for the ribbing. I kind of like this, as the sleeves always seem like pesky afterthoughts when I’m done with the main body work.
