Notes

Love the pattern, love the yarn!
I used the worsted yarn and a size 7 needle, and as I began, I was convinced it would be too big. I was ready to frog it and start over, but I made the dubious decision to switch to a size 6 needle right after finishing the lace on the yoke. It turned out alright, but I wish I had continued with the body and made it a bit longer. I also went with the full-length sleeves.

I decided to do buttons all down front, and realized that for a 2T the buttons would be too close together, so I actually had to sew up two buttonholes I had knit before I figured this out and made the adjustment.

I needle-felted the toadstools because I really missed her first “woodland sweater” which she has outgrown. When I found the smooth, wooden buttons, I knew I wanted to paint them. I sanded them lightly, painted them and coated them with three coats of clear varnish.

I am really happy with it. I want to try it in a lighter weight with the short sleeves for spring…
