Got to sneak-preview this new yarn from KnitPicks and I love it! It’s incredibly soft, lofty, and has great color depth from the silk-and-mohair blend. This cowl knitted up really quickly and I’m especially pleased with how the beading looks--very subtle, and not scratchy at all (that’s always my fear with beaded projects, for some reason, although it never turns out to be the case).
This project is called Thundercloud for the billowing curves of the lace, and the little dewdrop-like clusters of beads worked intermittently across the fabric…as well as the beaded fringe, which is optional if you don’t like fringe, but looks just like a gentle rainshower at the lower edge of the piece!
The length is such that it can be worn as a simple loop around the neck, draped over the shoulders shawlwise with the long loop in back for an elegant evening look, or doubled for extra warmth. You can even wear one wrap as a hood to keep your hair from blowing about on a blustery day, while still keeping your neck warm!
