Notes

I had one more skein of UW Handpaint in my stash that had not found its dedication, until I saw Asa’s adorable elephant pattern from the Spring/Summer 2022 collection.

Using leftovers from my Rainbow and Hearts baby blanket for the sweater, this elephant would be the perfect companion for the blanket!

Asa’s pattern was a delight to knit. Little details, like the gentle shaping of the body and arms, or the perfectly off-set decreases, were fun discoveries while knitting.

It was a little bit fiddly to manage the little parts and extra stitches for Kitchener joins and all, but the results are absolutely worth it.

Depending on when you downloaded your pattern, make sure you check the errata for updated ear instructions.
Also, I did one row of knit after casting on the trunk stitches, before working increases. Much better to manage, and no visible difference.

SOCKS
Since we just started the Sock Hop MAL, I decided to make Harper some socks:

  • With yarn of your choice and on the thicker needles, work the beginnings of a leg.
  • After the increases, knit 8 rows.
  • Then work 3 rounds k tbl 1, p 1 before binding off in pattern.
  • Weave in ends.
