Happy anniversary, Hazel and Randy!

I stash dived into my Vintage yarn supplies and found the right colors, in the right weight, in plentiful amounts, to participate in Hazel’s 20th Anniversary WAL. It’s a yarn from about 1961, 100% wool, made in Canada for Candid Yarns in Woodbury, CT.

Will use the Tiny Quilt Weaver set, to be extra nostalgic.

Pattern is now available on Hazel’s blog …

Pattern is printed, and I have this natural beige/brown of the same wool that I’m thinking of using for the back of the pillow. Or the green … haven’t decided yet. Now I just need to find the time to weave!

Finally sat down to do a little bit of weaving … I had to chuckle, looking at my workspace this morning … what a pin loom mess … but productive and fun.

I ran out of white, though, and need to wash some more … meh!

All parts are woven, including weavies for the back side of the pillow.

2021-11-07 Panel is Complete

I actually missed one update, but … the panel with the red bird is done.

The “berries” are two little hexagons, woven on the BabyTURTLE … fast and fun, and the perfect size.

The last step is adding the back panel to make it a pillow case …

Back panel done, with a “country quilt Christmas star” motif.

Extra row will be folded under when making the pillow case.

The pillow is all done, I just needed to sew the sides together.

Had the right amount of morning sun to display it on the sofa …

Insert is a 16” x 16” pillow.
