A note about my yardage usage
The only change I made to make it work with my yardage was to go down a needle size, to a US 4. I weighed my yarn pretty frequently, to make sure I could swing things. For rows 141-142, I was using 2 grams of yarn per row. Knowing that I was going to increase my yarn usage by roughly 25% (since you add 25% more stitches when you increase on row 167) I was able to calculate how much yarn I’d need for the edging. note: because I knit the edging when it was missing 2 rows, I would have used approximately another 5 grams of tart, for a total of 340 yards.

I blocked my Carson focusing on the width rather than the depth, making a half oval instead of a half circle. This means there was a little distortion on the edges where the contrast color is first introduced, but once un-pinned it’s really not noticeable anymore.

A heads-up on my edging: on release, the pattern was missing one cross in the chart in the short edging. That’s why my edging bits look different than Romi’s photos. This is being corrected now (pattern was updated 9/7/12), but I wanted to note it here in case someone looked at my edging and wondered why it looked different.
