I’ve completed the main section and am about to start the cabled border. So far, I’ve used 17g of the Aguas and 37g of the Arbol.

I’m up to row 12 of the border. These rows demand a lot of concentration, the occasional wrong side row that is just purl stitches is a welcome relief!

All the knitting is complete. Once I started the edging, I didn’t like it very much so I frogged it and did an i-cord bind off, as per knit1purl’s I love cables in the Springtime. I like the neat finish it gives and I think it fits in better with the cables. I’m pretty amazed that I navigated the cable border with no errors; it’s the most complicated pattern I’ve ever knitted.

Tomorrow I’ll weave in my ends, then I will block it. Hopefully, it will be in the post to Melanie by the weekend :D

I’ve just pinned out my shawl and the final size will be 60” across the top edge and 25.5” deep. I’ve lost a little bit of the depth by doing a different edge, but the final measurement it still a couple of inches short of the dimensions given in the pattern. Still very happy with it though.
