15/07/2015 - I’ve plucked up the courage to start this, mainly because I’ve bought the yarn and Jamie is hassling me for it! At 16 pages long the pattern is intimidating but, having made a start, it’s going OK. So far, I’ve found it easy to follow and because there are both written instructions and charts, when I’ve been unsure, I’ve been able to check the chart.

This is my first time using the Cascade Pima and I really like it.

19/07/2015 - once I got going, I really enjoyed making this. While there’s nothing technically difficult, the pattern does demand concentration but there’s also a logical progression to it which makes things easier. I love how this turned out. So does the recipient :) If I made it again, I’d probably go to a 4.5 hook. My tension swatch was fine, but there are lots of chain stitches and mine tend to be on the tight side. I think this turned out a bit smaller than it should have done.

The recipient is only 5’2 so the length was fine but for someone taller, another repeat would have been necessary. I suspect this is also a bit snugger around the chest than it should be, too but it’s a nice fit for the person who will be wearing it :) I had plenty of yarn - it was a little galling to have to break into the 4th hank for half of the very last round! I used a little to edge the armholes and didn’t do the edging around the top of the yolk as I like that edge as it is.
