Notes

The instructions for the crown make no sense to me, and as there is no chart for the crown, it’s impossible to see how the cables are supposed to line up.

I’ve worked the main repeat twice, then rounds 33 and 34 (rounds 1 and 2). Moving my marker 1 stitch to the right means that there are now 3 purl stitches at the start of the round. The instruction is then: 1/1 RPC, ssk, p4 I’m starting an entirely new cable above 3 purl stitches? How is that not going to look like a mess?

I can only assume I’m missing something as this pattern has been worked several times and no-one else seems to have mentioned it.

The first decrease round says to move the marker to the right. The pattern only lines up if you move it to the left.

At the end of round 34 remove the marker, p1, place the marker.

This is a nice pattern, and pretty simple, but could have done with tech editing and/ or test knitting.

I love the deep brim. My ears really suffer on cold windy days, so the thick layer will save me a lot of earache!
