Modified to fit a putter. Here’s how I did it:

CO 32 sts with Linen using Judy’s Magic Cast On. Worked Argyle Pattern in the round for 1/2 inch, continuing flat for 3 inches, then rejoining in the round for 1 1/2 inches, kitchenering with Rust to finish.

Ribbing was worked over 48 sts in K2, P2 rib with Navy for six inches, bound off and sewn to the argyle piece. If I were to make this again, I would pick up from the argyle piece & knit the tube downwards.
