Using the 112 stitches numbers, but at a slightly looser gauge (22 sts/4”) for a 20.5” sweater. Used lengths for largest size. Size 4 needle for solid color, 5 for colorwork.

Mods: 1x1 twisted rib for waistband and sleeve cuffs; 2-stitch seed stitch column at each side for a faux side seam (shown in second photo).

For the yoke, I decreased 4 sts to 180 on first round, then added a second plain stitch between owls for a 15-stitch repeat (and 12 owls). On round 14 of yoke chart, decreased 1 stitch in center of each background separator - from 4 stitches to 3; 12 sts decreased, 168 remain. Rest of chart plus 4 more rounds worked straight.

Then (for a more gradual yoke decrease and a slightly smaller neck opening):
-K2, K2tog around (121 sts); K 4 rounds
-K2, K2tog around (94 sts); K 4 rounds
-K2, K2tog around, with an extra couple of dec’s for 70 stitches

--worked 3 pairs of short rows starting from shoulder to shoulder, shortening each one by 2 sts

--K 1 round plain, decreasing 2 to 68 sts - so neckband on 68 sts

--worked an inch of 2x2 rib to finish

Used about 100g/330 yards of MC in all and about 25g CC for the owls. Finished measurements: 19” chest, 13.5” long (could have blocked wider, I just steamed it).
