What possed me to buy a big skein (1330m/500g) of white-yellow-purple-green-blue yarn?
Let’s see if I can turn this nightmare into something nice.
It takes approximately 103 stitches for a 60cm wide blanket.
26 rows of dc and one row of sc (3 stitches in each corner) for the last row.
The pattern is simple, US terminology used:
To work a corner dc 5 into same stitch, the corner is always worked into the third stitch of the corner in the row below. Stitch markers are your friend!
R1: Magic Loop, ch3 (counts as first dc), 15 dc into ring (16dc);
R2: ch3, dc 4 into first stitch, #dc 1 into next 3 stitches, work corner# repeat process between ## for a total of 3 times, dc 1 into next 3 stitches, close round with slip stitch in top of turning chain, slip stitch into next two stitches to reach the center point of the corner
Repeat R2 till you reach the desired size. Finish with a row of sc, working only 3 sc into each corner.
Still have to sew in the threads, wash and tumble dry it. But I’m done with crocheting!!!
The blanket turned out to be really pretty, if a triffle too colorful. Originally I planned to crochet a big inner square with the multi-colored yarn, add some rows in white and finish with one row of dc and a row of shells in multi-color.
But I decided against that border, the blanket wouldn’t have gained from it. Instead I’ve now a pretty and simple blanket which I won’t mind giving away.
