Notes

Not sure on hook size -might need to make a little test piece. Since Stylecraft production moved to the UK, I’ve heard it’s a bit thinner…
Don’t know if that’s true though…

Made a little sample and think I used 4mm hook.
I think… But anyway, I’ll do the foundation row with 4.5mm, then continue with 4mm.

I’ve worked out a colour repeat which will use the colour white twice.
I’m going for 5 x the pattern repeat across the row. Hopefully, with the zigzag strip attached, it should be approaching 4’ wide. So 5 x 24 + 2 = 122 sts

Roughly halfway through the first repeat and it’s looking really good!! Very pleased with the colour selection - my friend will love it!

First complete repeat done and second one underway -trying to decide how much longer to make it.
I might make a start on the squares for the central row of the zigzag panel, just incase it comes out a bit longer. Or shorter…

Colours are looking very good together! I might have to make myself one!

Going Very well!
I made 8 squares and ‘zigzagged’ them together, then worked stripes outwards from each side. Might add 2 or 3 more rows each side, which will then produce a square blanket.

I have bought an extra ball of white, as it appears twice in the colour repeat, just in case. (Nearly finished and haven’t needed it yet…)

Finished both panels and decided to overlap them and soak an extra granny row on one side with a join as you go stitch. On the other side, I will try and work an invisible backstitch.

Working on the border now! Edged all round in either spearmint or sherbet, then a row of 2tr clusters in mallard.
2htr in each ch sp on next row in cloud.
Topped with a row of tr in storm blue. Maybe 2 rows.

Currently, the zigzag edge will be left as a zigzag. It might curl….

Nearly done. Just need to slip stitch along the ‘edge’ of the zigzags on the reverse - although it’s actually a straight edge, which I will leave straight. I had considered making some flowers or something to put over the join but that will make it very thick just there, so won’t.

Apart from steam blocking and washing, I think it’s done!!

And my friend is going to LOVE it!!!
