Challenge (Encyclopedia): VOLUME M: MEDIEVAL

The European Medieval period, also referred to as the Middle Ages, lasted from the 5th century to the 15th century and is divided into the Early, High, and Late Middle Ages. The period began around the time of the fall of the Western Roman Empire. After the population recovered from the plagues, wars, and famine of the Late Middle Ages, the Medieval period ended as cultural and technological advancements changed European society dramatically.

Your challenge this month is to craft something inspired by some aspect of the European Medieval period.

TUP:
All Dragons, All the Time: The Epic Unity Cross-over

-You may choose to represent a dragon from any of the participating nerderies to fulfill the TUP requirements.

-Make sure you link back to your own nerdery in some way to get your Team Spirit Points

-Please include the banner above in your TUP submissions. Also, feel free to post more than one dragon project using the banner and cross-over tie-ins if you so desire. Let’s make this a dragon takeover!!

-When submitting your dragon projects, please earburn Odettenz, as well as with JaimeLouise from Team Precious. Your projects will be counted and included in a master list of dragon awesomeness!

Challenge:

Our challenge this month was to craft (in my case, knit) something inspired by some aspect of the European Medieval period. I’ve crafted a Dragon, in honor of the significance of Dragons in Europe’s Medieval Dragons. A quote from Dragon-art-work.com

Cave Dwelling Medieval Dragons of the Middle Ages In Europe, during medieval times tales of terrifying fire-breathing dragons grew far and wide, and have stirred awe and terror in the myths and legends of many cultures ever since.

My dragon, Sir Vince Dragon. Pictures were taken in a black box, so it muted his colors…but he’s all shades of blue. :) Not grey. I figure a real dragon would be blue, to blend in with the blue sky as a back ground. Survival and all. ;-P

Team Tie In:

In the final Episode of Angel, “Not Fade Away,” Season 5, episode 22, all manner of big bads are unleashed on Los Angeles. One of these Big Bads is a dragon. It’s not as cuddly as mine, but it has add-ons, like breathes fire.

I drew inspiration from a Team Precious dragon. Glaurung, also known as the father of dragons, appears in “The Silmarillion.” He is a dragon of Middle Earth.
