Craft an item inspired by maps.

People have been studying relative positions in geographical space for millennia. From wall paintings to global satellite networks, maps have expanded in scope and technological sophistication, but they remain a way to make sense of and gather knowledge about the physical world around us.

Your challenge this month is to craft something inspired by maps of geographical or physical space. Your inspiration must come from a type of map that deals with spatial relationships that exist outside the body. You can focus on map symbols, the colors of historical maps, topographic map patterns, or any other aspect of maps that you find inspiring. You can even craft a map of your own (using one of the Nerd Wars-approved crafts of knitting, crocheting, weaving, or spinning) to represent the spatial relationships between real places in your life: map out your neighborhood, a vacation route you took, or a blueprint of your home.
