I was given this mercerised cotton ages ago and have struggled knowing what to do with it but finally I came across a youtube video which I thought would do the trick. Although it’s for a child’s bolero, you can customise to make as big as you want it. As long as the square and chain for each arm fits onto your back and arms you’ll be fine. Unfortunately mine didn’t so I pulled the chains etc back and added 3 rows to the sides to make bigger before adding the chains for the arms again. If I were to make again for a size 16 (uk), I would chain 47 across to make the square.

I plan to dye the cotton black after I have made the bolero as I really can’t stand this colour.

The uncompleted bolero was taken 200g cotton used.

Altogether 500g approx. (just under) was used.
