Pattern: Secret Rose, Christmas Ball 11 (p.54)

I love this book and enjoyed knitting the compact ornament. I have a feeling my Christmas ball wasn’t supposed to be quite that tiny -- I typically knit tighter when I’m (1) knitting in the round on DPNs and (2) knitting a stranded project. Once I figured out which increase method I wanted to use (I didn’t think I would like theirs, but I’m going to knit another Christmas ball and try it), this project took no time at all.

I filled the ornament with roving as I was knitting rather than doing it when the ornament was finished. When it was finished, I steamed it with my iron. I definitely prefer roving for stuffing -- it is much easier to get it to go where I want it to go.

Notes to myself:

Inc = M1
Dec = K2tog

Used Crystal Palace 6” double-pointed needles
Used natural-colored roving to stuff the ball.
