I was asked how many ripples (2 rows of double crochet each) I’m able to get from 1 skein of Cascade 220 Superwash. For the size blanket I am crocheting (36” wide), it’s approximately 6 ripples. As each skein of yarn is 100 grams, that’s about 16.5 gms per ripple. (And a 50 gm ball would yield 3 ripples, etc).

25 June 2009 - 46 stripes

14 June 2009 - After a LONG and unplanned interruption, I am working on the ripple again. I’m up to 40 stripes and plan to zoom till I finish. The next ripple I crochet will have fewer colors and stripes will vary in width. I’m rather sick of the colors I’m using now, so I plan to put a lot of thought into choosing colors for the next one.

8 April 2009 - 27 stripes / 12 colors

27 March 2009 - 21 stripes / 12 colors

22 March 2009 - 17 stripes / 12 colors
