Professors,

This hat is another project near and dear to me as it’s part of my general quest to knit more with my own yarn. The funny thing is I don’t remember spinning this particular skein and when I started spinning a year ago I wasn’t always very good at labeling my finished yarn so this one’s something of a mystery. I know it’s wool. I know I spun it three ply, I know it’s brown in color and it was particularly squishy to knit with. Oh and it’s a bulky weight. I wasn’t even 100% sure of my yardage when setting out to knit the hat but I pushed on just the same. I love cables and they seem to show up in nearly everything I’ve knit this term so the hat seemed perfect! All of these qualities have added up to fit your prompt to craft something to keep me warm in my travels perfectly.

You see, when traveling by Muggle methods in winter, one can get very cold between the brushing of snow or scraping of ice off one’s car. You have no idea how much time I’ve spent in these activities before getting my Hogwarts letter and learning the wonders of the Floo Network!! And even once one has safely freed one’s car from these treacherous coverings, there’s still the time spend waiting for the heat to kick in and walking from the parking lot to one’s destination. As everyone, witch or muggle alike, knows we lose most of our heat straight out our heads, a cozy warm hat is essential winter gear for all muggles living in colder climates, so it is with this in mind that I present you this month’s homework.
