After a couple of false starts and trials I’m now loving this pattern! I didn’t like the weight of the lace so am holding the yarn double which seems to be giving me the perfect weight and cosiness for an Autumn/Winter shawl. Only up to row 9 but the pattern is really starting to become visible….and easier.

So I brought this on holidays with me to work on it on my various flights and bus trips. However, in Dublin airport they made me put my hook into my checked luggage….and then it vanished!
Luckily I had brought some knitting with so worked away on that. I’ve caught the knitting bug so that has kept me busy but have just picked it up again tonight. Luckily I marked where I was on the pattern otherwise I would have been totally lost!

I had to put this down for a while because of neck pain…and a few other things that needed to be finished first. I’m on the edging rows now…so the end is in sight. Each row is taking quiet a long time, especially the bpdc rows, but I am hoping I’ll have it finished within a week. I am still undecided about putting beads on it. I’ve never worked with beads before, and I’m not sure if the intended recipient would prefer it with or without. I’ll have a think about it while I am getting to the beading row.

So after trying two different bead sizes and neither of them being big enough I decided not to bother with beads at all.
It blocked out nicely and turned out really well.
