Notes

(First picture from 2011, second pic from 2016. The red has faded and I’ve had to darn the soles completely, but otherwise these are in relatively good condition!)

I just fell in love with the puzzle pattern, I’ve been knitting it like crazy with different color combinations and just socks for now, but I’ve been thinking about mittens too. The green and grey socks which are in the same picture were actually a gift.

Apparently the link above does not work anymore. The pattern is as easy as pie:

Pattern repetition 8sts, 2/4 rows: Knit 7, slip 1, repeat for 2 rows. The next 2 rows you do the same (knit 7, slip 1), except now you have to remember that you must slip 1 in a different place as the 2 rows before.

This pattern creates the distinctive brick- or puzzle-pattern. All you have to do is decide which stitch to slip. The pattern repeat will always be the same: knit 7, slip 1 for 2 rows, then change.
