I left out the thumb because I felt that it was a big improvement if one could wear these completely on the wrists and not covering the palm, which would’ve been akward if there was an empty thumb hanging around. Instead, I crocheted loosely around the thumb holes.

This way they are more versatile, one can wear them either pulled higher up on the arm and just let the thumb holes be, or put thumbs through the holes and let them cover the palms.

Also, I made some adjustments to the pattern. I felt that the LpC’s and RpC’s were too bumpy for my taste, so I just changed them to regular RC’s and LC’s. I don’t know whether it’s because I used this particular yarn or if there’s a typo in the pattern but it was an easy thing to notice right after just a couple of rows: the yarn and stitches just weren’t lying flat enough, but kept twisting around and trying to slide beside the purls.
