This is a Nine week CAL That Lilla Bjorn is hosting called Circles in the Sun based on the overlay crochet technique.

Block 1 Complete - The size of my blocks are coming out to 7x7 Inches, I’m happy with that. I do not like the look of the tangerine in this color scheme, I decided to swap it out with rose pink.

Block 2 Complete - Rose pink is much better!

Block 3 Complete - I like the way the color changes look for each square, I’m following the pattern and not doing my own thing this time.

Block 4 Complete - I am loving crocheting these squares!

Block 5 Complete - I am enjoying the add on of the overlay technique with every square.

Block 6 Complete - Gauge/Tension is really important I’m noticing, I don’t want to work to tight because it gets more difficult to add overlay to the square and I don’t want to work to loose because it won’t look good.

Block 7 Complete - So far this is my favorite block, I decided to go with a surface sl st (which is optional).

Block 8 Complete - This was an easier block to crochet I went with tacking down the flowers, I like it better.

Block 9 Complete - Last block I like the way the colors turned out on this block. It’s been fun staying with a color scheme with all of the blocks.

Next week we put all of the blocks together.

CAL Complete - I’m not quite sure what I’m going to do with the completed square yet I’ve got several idea’s roaming around in my head it turned out pretty big 22 X 22 inches. I loved the CAL and this is a great sampler of the overlay Technique.
