This square is made for the 2015 Block-A-Month CAL.

This square was an interesting square to make I used a G/4.0MM hook the instructions call for an H/5.0mm. I have been using a G hook on all of the squares and I’m either coming up to big, right on, or two small.

This square was to small I was good until round 6 and when I realized that the square was going to be too small……. Well I wasn’t going to tear it apart. So this is what I did for the next 3 rows to bring it up to a 12” square:

special stitch:
dc2tog, dc leaving last loop on hook you should have 2 loops on hook, sk next 2st dc in next st you should have 3 loops on hook pull last stitch through all 3 loops.
Wallaaa! It looks like an upside down V.

Round 7
dc in next dc, V-st ch2 V-st in corner, start the dc2tog in the very first dc of V-st of last row, ch2 start next dc2tog in same st. Repeat dc2tog to the corner ending making sure so end dc in very last dc of V-st Repeat all the way around. Sl st in top of dc end off.
(Note) There should be 9 dc2tog per side and it should match up with the pryer rounds V-st’s.

Round 8
Start new color in any corner, ch2 hdc ch2 2hdc in corner,* hdc inbetween next 3dc 3hdc in ch2 sp all the way to corner 2hdc ch2 2hdc for corner* Repeat around square, sl st in top of corner hdc end off.
(Note) There should be 8 3hdc per side.

Round 9
I went back to pattern for round 9 and finished as the pattern states.
