Notes

My sock knitting up until now consisted of the formula - 64 stitches depending on yarn thickness either size 1 or 1.5 U.S. needles.

Heel is always done in the Fish Lips Kiss Heel.

However, I saw socks made with the “Fleegle” heel construction and I thought it looked pretty cool so I thought I’d give that a try.

I bought this pattern to guide me through it.

First of all, the pinhole cast-on - took some getting used to. And Staci says to use DPNs to start with but, I had almost given up on it until I opted for the magic loop method (Yes, Staci, I did me). It was more manageable, Thank you.

Anyway, it looks easy and fine if you’re using huge needles and thick yarns like Staci did in the video but try doing it with fingering weight yarn with size U.S. ones. Anyway, that was my experience.

The heel - The most important part and the reason why I bought this pattern was a bit confusing. I mean it was all laid out to me row by row, but I was using magic loop and there was some arrangements that needed to be made with the stitches which I didn’t do and the heel turned out wrong. It’s still a heel and wearable but not like it was SUPPOSED to be.

Currently working on another pair, this time with a wedge toe and heel done properly.
