Notes

I won this pattern as a prize in Nerdwars donated by TheEvilPretty1. Already have the yarn :)
Not keen on the picot edge though, so I think I’ll just rib it there.

General Notes & Mods:

Last 2 photos show the first swatch with the channel cast on edge. Not keen on it. Will do a usual LTCO in pattern instead.

Sizing note: I am in between sizes at 32”. Knitted 30.75” for a bit of negative ease and it fits perfectly. I would not recommend more negative ease than this as the colourwork stretches and starts showing the CC in the MC gaps between sts. It already does this slightly but is mostly ok.

Body = 39cm before joining sleeves (longer than pattern). I like longer tops despite being petite. If you have a long torso, I’d recommend even longer because even with my short torso I felt I needed more length.

I knitted enough in the collar so that it would cover my bra straps (only a tiny bit more than pattern instructions). I feel like a few more short rows at the back wouldn’t go amiss since it rides up at the front sometimes. I think because I’ve chosen a smaller size with negative ease, the collar is higher up for me than it seems for some others that have knit this.

Note for future - some short rows at the back would be nice, just below the colourwork because the back collar is quite low.

April 20, 2014 In the part where I’m mean tto break the yarn and slip 75 sts (where we start the collar), it seems incorrect to slip 75. I slipped only 74 as 75 took me past the centre point. 74sts took me only 1 st after the centre while 75 st took me 2 sts after centre.

April 22, 2014 I love this jumper. There is this “AHA” moment when you join the sleeves and everything comes together and just WORKS. Before that, it’s more like “will it fit?” I’m so excited. Going to do all the weaving in ends and sewing up (underarms) and that’s it.
