I’ve been making these basket-weave blankets for years. I had four different colors from a kit I bought from Mary Maxim. Didn’t like the pattern in the kit so decided to make a basket-weave blanket…I didn’t look at the old Vanna white pattern but tried to recall it from memory..hahaha then after the blanket was complete I looked up here pattern…I was off by a few stitches..her pattern calls for 130 stitches 14 fp double crochet then 14 bp double crochet….
The one pictured I did 150 stitches plus 2 for turning chain …did 10 front post then 10 back post double crochet stitches across..did these for 10 rows then switched doing back post into front post and front post into back post…going back and forth every ten rows and wa-la the blanket was born..then I took the brown color and did two rows of half double crochet around the entire blanket.
This yarn is acrylic and angora mixed. It is very very soft and squishy.
