These two shawls started my weaving year but had to sit and wait while I dealt with a nasty muscle spasm in my lower back.

I twisted fringes while well medicated!

The warp is 8/2 rose fiber and the ‘tender pink’ is the colour the yarn came in. Its very nice to work with. Sett was 24 epi. I used taupe tencelon one shawl which shows the pattern better.

The other shawl: I used dandelion fiber yarn which is very soft, cream coloured and what I would call a ‘skinny 8/2’ or a fat 10/2 for size.

The draft is 8 shafts, 8 treadles and despite the way it looks, not complicated to treadle. It has logical sequences to track. From handweaving.net #74555

I used lighter colours for weft as the pattern is quite busy but I’m glad I tried it as I have been curious about it for some time.

shawls are: 25” x 78” and 25” x 81” There was quite a bit of shrinkage!
