My boyfriend wants me to knit him a balaclava, so he can wear it at WW1 re-enactment. He’s allergic to wool, so I’ll be making it of acrylic yarn.

The gauge is: 3 rows = 1 cm.
The pattern says 45 rows = 6 inches.

Finished! Started the cape pieces with 5 mm needles. But when I started the ribbing, it looked a bit big on my boyfriend’s neck. So I switched for the ribbing to 4 mm needles, and it’s perfect! 4 mm and this yarn makes the perfect gauge. I measured the total piece and it was 22 inches like it said in the pattern it should measure!
