Notes

07/11/11 - cast on the Stand Mixer Outfit from the Never Not Knitting Blog around 9:00 this morning, got really frustrated, threw it across the room and started over.

I’m going to loosely follow the instructions. I measured my mixer and cast on 150 stitches to fit around the biggest part (the bottom). I’ll incorporate the Gathered Stitch and will knit until it’s big enough and be done with it.

08/09/11 - Finished and wetblocking right now.

What I did:

  • Cast on 150 stitches.

  • Did one full pattern repeat of the Gathered Stitch pattern from The Harmony Guides: Knit & Purl

  • Continued to knit in stockinette until it reached about 11” from cast on edge.

  • Calculated the decreases using the instructions for how to shape the top of a hat here. I plugged in 150 sts., my gauge (4 stitches/5 rows = 1”) and kept the 6 wedges.
