Notes

This didn’t actually take 10 months to knit, I just started and then put it into hibernation for ages. Originally intended to be for Mother’s Day 2011, I finished it just before Mother’s Day 2012…

It’s to go with the first one I made, here: number one.

This time round, however, I didn’t knit two separate pieces for the front and back, but just kept going to create one long strip and then seamed the sides together. The most sensible thing to do though would be to cast on and knit in a circle (starting with the buttonhole end, rather than finishing there as the pattern does) and then use a three needle bind off to finish. That would mean absolutely no seaming at all. If I ever make a third, I will definitely do this.

And, I may well make a third as I think this is a really beautiful pattern. Looks v elegant at the end and really doesn’t take that long to knit. In all, i would guess this was probably completed in four or five evenings in total (just spread out across an entire year!)
