Notes

Wanted a quick cardigan to knit my baby as he was running out of warm clothes. Of course, with a newborn, a “quick” knit has still taken me nearly three months!

I got slowed up by the arms as I’m not a huge fan of knitting on DPNs so kept finding excuses not to pick it up and keep going. Must learn the magic loop method instead.

I made the hoodless version as I find hoods a bit annoying for babies that can’t yet sit up. Did the second size (6 months) which was slightly too large for my 4 month old, but only just.

Not terribly pleased with my placement of the buttons, which leaves the cardigan gaping open a bit at the front - in an ideal world I should re-sew them, but whether I actually will or not. Hmmmm, we’ll see.

I really like this yarn for baby clothes. It’s nice and soft, but not too thick, relatively cheap for 100% wool and machine-washable. For some reason, Ravelry seems to think it’s discontinued, but it’s very easy to find here in the UK.

I also love this colour grey: just a tinge of blue in it makes it really warm and classy.
