Notes

Second Debbie Bliss baby cardigan I’ve made in the last few days (this one is very similar in construction to the baby shrug) and it’s a nice quick knit with a cute end result.

I think I have cast off the ribbed section a little too tightly as it doesn’t open as well as it should around the neckline.

Just need to find a good button to sew on -- am thinking a leather one would look good -- and block it properly.

This is the first time I’ve knitted with a cotton yarn and I’m not sure how I feel about it. This eco aran makes very well-defined stitches, but I’m not quite sure whether that is the ideal look for this top. I found it a bit harder to knit with than wool as it had a tendency to come unstranded -- this happened especially when I was using it for sewing up the seams or trying to sew the ends in. The finished cardigan is a lot “harder” to the touch than it would be if I’d knit it in wool as well. Jury still out, but perhaps I’ll find a more suitable project and then be a convert…

Update: added new blocked photos…

Update update: Now this has been worn by the baby for a while, I would say it definitely needs another button. Very cute and cosy, but the front has a tendency to flap about.
