I designed the CCC project and have seen several completed cushions but I have not made it myself - until now.
I started yesterday and have made the first 7 shapes. I am using very ordinary acrylic yarns and was aiming for a faded, washed-out look with this range of greens and beiges.

The second photo, theoretically, shows shapes 8 - 13, but I have started to change the design as I go along.
Shape 9 was originally a large triangle but I decided it was to big for what I have in mind (What do I have in mind?). It is now split into three stripes. Amazingly, the brown stripe is a quarter of the height of the triangle, the ‘white’ stripe is a quarter the height and the dark green is half the height. The eye is easily confused. The dark green is a quarter of the area of the original shape - which seems much more believable.

A few more shapes added. You can see I have some stitches waiting on a needle while I make up my mind what to do next.

The square is finished - with quite a lot of changes from the original. I am not turning it into anything else - yet. It wants to be the back of a jacket when it grows up but will have to wait as I have other things that are more pressing.

It finally demanded to become a jacket!

Shapes and colours added randomly to complete the fronts and sleeves. One of the yarns is slightly thicker than the others, which I don’t like but I decided to stick with it as there was no going back; adding a few more bits makes it look as though it belongs and is not just there by mistake.

Bands and cuffs complete. I decided to make them not match.

A pair of mis-matching mittens … and now for a hat.
