Tips:
nupps: I’m using a 5 stitch nupp as suggested for normal lace weight on the pattern page. I used this tutorial to get the hang of them.
I did the version with the most nupps. And I even got used to them!! To make it easier I used a darning needle to stretch the five stitches out and then I could easily purl into them. Also by doing so it made it simple to tell if the stitches were still in order :)
Clue 6: The repeats are in-between the BOLD bars!
Stretchy Bind-off Love, LOVE, LOVE this bind-off method. I think it will become a new favorite for my shawls. It gives enough play to stretch easily and knits off kind of like a ssk! Easy to learn, easy to remember.
3/3: really a 3/3 star stitch… like in Laminaria: K3tog without dropping sts from left needle; yo, k same 3 sts together again and drop from left needle. Number of sts has not changed.
knitting sideways for clue 2: Not as scary as I originally thought. Just a little time consuming. Out of the entire pattern this little section seemed to never end! I used stitch markers to keep track of yo’s other than that it went smooth.

Thoughts: I honestly was halfway mad at this shawl the entire time I was knitting it. The pictures of all the projects were gorgeous and mine looked like a mess of stitches. Then I blocked it. WOW!!! Blocking really transforms this shawl into something special. So glad I kept with it. This is a beautiful pattern. Thank you so much for sharing this for free!!
6-2-14 Blocked and beautiful! I decided to give this one to my mom a little earlier because she was recently diagnosed with cancer. I hope it brings her comfort during her chemo sessions :)
6-1-14 Officially off the needles!!! Time to block it!
5-10-14 Clue 4 complete. I used up 45 g of yarn so far. It’s now time to break out a new skein. I’m choosing the path if most nupps.
5-1-14 Clue 3 done. I used 30 g of yarn so far (around 264 yds)
4-21-14 I cast on because I want to get this done as a present for my mom for Christmas. Finished clue 1 in a night, super easy. Clue 2 and the sideways knitting is interesting…. I’m using stitch markers on the yo’s to keep track so I don’t lose them.
