Notes

12-30-10 - the date of the snippage, and I’ve had to start this over in bigger needles. The 10’s were making not very flexible a fabric. Apparently, size does matter.

1st hank lasted until somewhere in the second repeat of row 23. 2nd hank lasted until the bind off on the first arm.

1-1-11 crap. I spent most of knit night talking with Virginia and not counting, and now, after the arm bind off, I have 2 extra st. I have no idea where I messed up, but the frog and I will be friends tonight until I get back to a row where I know I have the right number. Did I mention crap?

Still didn’t find where I messed up exactly, but I’ve fixed it. Here’s what I ended up doing: On row 7 of section 1B (middle of page 3) I figured out that one of the PMB’s is not right for me. I don’t know if I counted wrong or what, but when I placed the 2nd marker B for that section, my fans were not lined up right. What I ended up figuring out was to double check at the middle of each of the 6 K2tog’s to make sure that the center of each lined up with the previous ones. If not, I tinked back and redid the marker accordingly. So for that row 7, what I did was this (and my changes are in bold):

Front section - worked the same up to marker A
First arm section - worked the same up to next A
Back section - picking up at the slipping of marker A, I did this: slmA, K1, YO, K1, pmB, K2tog 3X, YOK1 6X, K2tog 6X, YOK1 6X, K2tog 6X, YOK1 6X, K2tog 3X, K to next MA, YO
Second arm section - worked the same
Other front section - worked the same.

Also, after adding on the 14 required underarm stitches, I found I had 2 stitches too many, so frogged that part again, and re-counted and re-counted and could not find any error on my part, so I changed the add on to 13 instead. The first row under that cast on is supposed to be a pattern row, with the YO’s and K2tog’s, but I’m making mine a plain knit row cause I think that’ll look better.

1-5-11 - Ok great. I pretty much finished it, and looked at the armholes and they looked huge. Put it on, and it’s just way too big. I’m thinking after it’s blocked it’ll be even bigger. So, made friends with the frogger again, and ripped back to the row prior to the armhole bind off for the large size. After doing the arm bind off, I double checked my count, and sure enough, I messed something up, and was coming up 2 too many, so on the next row where you’re supposed to cast on 12 for the underarm, I only cast on 11. All fixed. Going to just do the body until I run out of yarn and see how long it’s gonna be.

Still want to get a good pic with the baby belly…

August 2011 - got 3rd place at the county fair.
