Doing these the way I did David’s Horcrux socks; 2 at once with 2 sets of needles. So far, both toes are done, and I’m trying to decide how far up to start the pattern.
1-22-08 update…after much re-doing of the heels, both are done. This was a booger. I’m not used to doing heels with this many stitches, and I kept estimating incorrectly. If I were wise, I’d be putting notes in here on when I started gusset increases and how many I did and over how many stitches I did the short rows etc. If.
3-17-10 update…Has it really been 2 years? Holy cow. I picked these up again today in honor of St. Patrick’s Day, and noticed that I really don’t have that much left. One sock is completely done, and the other one is past the heel already. I figured out which rows on the charts I was on (thank you post it notes) and whipped out several more rows before I started seeing things cross-eyed. I’m hoping to finish these up by the end of the month.
8-8-10 update - won a 1st place ribbon at the Johnson County Fair in the knitted sock class!
Sept 2010 update - won 2nd place for knitted socks at the Kansas State fair. Turns out I also win some donated yarn as well! Bonus!
