I’m using a worsted weight yarn, so I’m following the size 2 numbers for width, but knitting to the size 4 for length. Also making the sleeves extra long so she can wear this next year, too. (This actually turned out to be closer to a size 5/6 after washing/blocking.)

I like this yarn. The red bled a lot when I washed it, and even after I rinsed it there was some red on the towel I used to mash some of the water out of the sweater. I expect it will bleed again next time I wash it, too. I just hope none of the color transfers to anything she wears underneath it.
