Notes

Listen to one of the most beautiful songs
about a dog’s loyalty by Kate Bush: Lake Tahoe
.

  • Summer, 2014 Therapy ended. Sushi is more confident.
She’s still unsure what to do when there are small
children around, but then again I can teach the kids
    to give her more space.

  • February 11, 2014 Talked to dog therapist about Sushi.
Looks like she is depending too much on mom.
Seen proof of that many times. Will go to therapy
every week to see how we can turn it around.

Will take Sushi for therapy, as she still
is far too timid for a Border.

  • August, 2013 Sushi develops into a fine girl.
Needs more confidence, but is a fast learner.
    Plays a lot with Fuji.

  • June 17, 2013 Mother and daughter both healthy
and happy dogs. Will see Sushi’s sisters next Saturday!

  • January 21, 2013
Walking on the leash, in the snow. Made sweater.

  • January 14, 2013 Took Sushi to Amsterdam.
A busy day with lots of cuddles from 3 young girls.

  • January 9, 2013 Noa (was Sella) and Pip (was Ötzi)
are with new families. These two are inseparable and I am so happy that their new families are good
    friends. They’ll often play!

  • January 7, 2013
Faya, Jessie (now called Floortje) and Teddy (recently called Flyer) have left. So sad to see Teddy go as he used to greet us so happily!

  • December 21
Somewhat painful to see that Fuji is torturing herself
somewhat by not letting her little ones drink too many times. It must be really painful.

  • December 19
    Pups had their vaccinations.

  • December 17
    All received their registration chip.

  • December 14
LOTS of playing, some listening. I am teaching them to sit.

  • December 9
    More new moms & dads.
    OMG are these puppies adorable.

  • December 2
New moms & dads have been to visit.

  • November 29
Yesterday I started feeding them, following farm food’s schedule. Also they started drinking from a dish. SO FUNNY.

  • November 27
Lots of playing with each other, not so much with toys yet.

  • November 26
3 Weeks old today. The blue-ish film/haze on the eyes seems to disappear and they seem to be able to see better.

The second image shows the growth chart. I started weighing at about a week. Clearly you can see that it is NOT a good idea to assume that Sushi-the-tiny will do well without any assistance. I tried for a day. I am still feeding her extra amounts of farmFood (goat-milk-based) puppy milk, in between her regular meals (not during the night though). And I will try to give her more as she seems a bit more hungry now. Believe me when I say she is the fastest moving puppy!

  • November 22
Today I say “thank you” to Fuji (and dad Aramis),
for giving life to such a fine bunch of little ones. The top image shows Fuji, completely being
her self, starting her regular walk.

  • November 17
    Eyes are open

  • November 9
Sushi the little one (see 2nd image from the top, she’s on the right side) can now do without my help. All are doing well. Fuji enjoys so much being surrounded by the crawling little doggies :)

  • November 8
Sushi had a good night. I helped her find her mom every two hours. Ribcage was visible earlier, but not anymore. Gaining weight, she looks better and feels much stronger.

  • November 7
Sushi still on bottle, but she did gain strength and drank from mom.

  • November 6
While watching/following the election mostly on twitter, the 5 bigger pups do fine. The smaller one called Sushi needs to be bottle-fed every 2 hours, yes also during the night. Found an angora undershirt to keep her warm.

Expecting our little doggies in the next week or so.

    - it is not easy being Fuji right now. Such weight gain; from 7 kilo’s to 9.5. She’s a bit restless today. Later in the afternoon, early evening she gave birth to 6 puppies - 5 girls and one boy (possibly subject to change as I have no experience to tell which is what). All is well and looks good, Fuji instinctively did what she had to do. One girl is significantly smaller and may need some help.

MODIFICATION Craft 'Knitting' dog breeding, however I’d not call myself a breeder at all, technically. We simply want a second border terrier, and it seems they only come by the handfuls, as in ‘multiple’. All puppies theoretically already have a new home with several border terrier lovers. ……………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………
