Notes

This hard-finish wool (think Harris Tweed) has such a sharp and stubborn beauty, I am left wondering if the fleece was not shorn of sheep grazing on the outermost of the Outer Hebrides, asses to the the Atlantic in defiance of the weather. The yarn is so hard core, it won’t even felt. Neither will galvanized utility wire. Therefore, the intended project, the Basic Vest by Sally Melville, has been thrown over in favor of this pullover.

Since the frogged yarn comes from a deconstructed 80’s sweater - a honeymoon purchase in Vermont - I am going by weight, not yardage. (Yarn Chicken Alert!) The main yarn is a two-ply wool handspun; one ply grey and one ply black, and the accent yarn is a two ply black wool.

The photos include a linen-stitch infinity scarf and another (ANOTHER!) 1898 Hat, because it is, after all, a ski sweater.

Tips & Modifications This sweater has the standard depth of v-neck, as the pattern is written. The rolled neck has no mods. The cuffs and hem are a 2x2 corrugated rib done in the main color and a plain black wool.
