HPKCHC - Potions - Spring ‘17

Name: YumiYarns

House: Hufflepuff

Yardage: 61 yds (Small = 25 yds & Large = 36 yds)

Explanation of how project fits the prompt:

Professors,

This month for my Potions homework I’ve crafted a Dobby pair of mitts that make me extremely happy. This is my first design for mitts and I’ve made the pattern for sizes large & small so I decided to try out making one set for myself and one set for my little helper. Since I wanted to ensure that the pattern works for multiple sizes, I’ve only made one mitt in each size so far, but I am very pleased with the results! (As is my little helper.)

Thank you for your time and attention,
Shaina ^_^

Quidditch - Spring 17 - Match 5

Name: YumiYarns

House: Hufflepuff

Yardage: 143 Yds

Explanation of how project fits the prompt:
Oh, I do hope that I’m not so late that I’ve missed the party! I’ve crafted this new pattern just for the Quidditch Cotillion. It has features that represent all four houses so it’ll be just perfect for this match!

The yellow represents my own house, Hufflepuff while the deep green represents Slytherin. This hat pattern is not for the faint of heart with all the slipped stitches and colorwork so the bravery of Gryffindor is showcased in attempting all the techniques involved. And finally, to showcase the cleverness of Ravenclaw, this is a pattern that I’ve designed myself (and I promise that there has been a lot of math involved)!

I do hope that the referees aren’t too busy enjoying the party to notice my goal…

(Thank you for taking the time to ref the game!) ^_^
