I made 16 squares total (4 in each color), joined them into horizontal strips with single crochets, and joined those strips again with single crochets so the seam is on the right side. Since this is a baby blanket I wanted to add a texture to the top with the seaming for the baby to explore more easily with her fingers.

For the border I joined along one of the sides, chained 3, then worked double crochets (american crochet) to the corner. For the turning at the corner I worked a double crochet, then a half-double crochet, then a single crochet into the corner stitch. I worked single crochets along the top/bottom edges. Then for the corner I worked a single crochets along, then a half-double crochet, then a double crochet into the corner stitch. I repeated each of those sides once more (minus the starting chain) and finished the side I started on with the double crochets. Once I reached my starting point I slip Stitched into the 3rd chain in the beginning chain and fastened off.

Note: I did not keep track of my yarn used very well at the beginning of this project since some of the colors were leftovers from other projects so if you try to replicate this blanket just keep that in mind.
