Notes

This pair is a sample for Club Yumi’s June 2018 Knitting Kit: Wee Bit Scottish. This isn’t the yarn included in the kits because it’s just a trial run & Cairo wanted these colors. ^_^

This sock pattern is available in 9 sizes: Child’s Small - Men’s Large & features an all-over mosaic knitting pattern in a cuff-down construction with afterthought heels. It’s written for a solid & varigated yarn, but looks really lovely with high-contrast semi-solids as well.

Wee Bit Scottish is an intermediate pattern, but don’t shy away from it if you haven’t tried mosaic (slip-stitch) knitting before. The most important thing to remember is to keep your tension even & to have fun with them!

If you want to get the pattern before it’s released on Ravelry in September, please consider becoming a YumiYarns.com Patreon. Along with other wonderful rewards, Alpaca & Silk level Patreons get a free copy of the Club Yumi patterns the month that they’re released instead of waiting up to 3 months for the collection to be released on Ravelry. This pattern will be available for qualifying Patreons on June 6, 2018.

Explanation of how project fits the prompt:

Dear Professors,

For this month’s homework assignment I’ve designed a cozy pair of mosaic socks for my knitting assistant. He’s quite fond of bright, happy colors so he picked the yarn and we combined it with a very dark black/grey for contrast. The mosaic (slip-stitch) technique means that they are thicker than normal socks & will keep him very toasty while we work!

I hope that these will meet your expectations for our assignment. Thank you for your time & attention,
Shaina ^_^
